Hooks and adjustable hangers for wires

WIRE END FITTINGS are height adjustable components (hooks and loops) to use in combination with ceiling fixings and 1.5mm hanging wires. All our wire hangers (except Perla) have a self-locking system with inbuilt release button to easily adjust the height. No special crimping tools are required making installation fast and reliable.

Safe Hook (U.HOOK)
Chrome finish hook with sprung safety catch to prevent unhooking by accident, for medium duty applications such as picture hanging.

Straight Hook (U.HOOK.ES)
Straight hook has a larger jaw making it easy to hang and change many items including printed POS boards supplied with punched holes.

Bee-Line Hook (U.HOOK.B)
Bee-Line hanging hook is quick to connect to hanging eyes on light fittings and for other industrial or heavier duty applications. Safety catch provided for extra security. Bright finish (also available in black).

Perla (U.PERLA)
Very neat (only 10mm diam) wire rope clamp for creating a loop or support. Chrome finish pearl size fitting with locking grub screw.

Urban Trapeze (UT1.5)
Smart looking wire loop clamp offers dual adjustment - both the height and size of the loop can be set precisely. More attractive adjustable wire hanger than a Gripple B-Lock, but with similar functionality. Stylish satin finish or available in matt black for use with black wires.

These suspension fittings provide a secure BOTTOM FIXING when a ceiling fixing and suspension wire has already been selected.

HOOKS

The Safe Hook, Enlarged Straight Hook and Pigtail Hook all serve similar functions and have a polished chrome finish. The version with the 'pigtail' twisted hook is slightly more economical and stronger when high load ratings are required (up to 17kg safe working load). The twist is there to prevent items becoming unhooked accidentally. Attachment is quick and easy provided that the luminaire, air conditioning unit, acoustic panel or sign has suitable suspension lugs fitted.

The Safe Hook is also known as a picture hanging hook. The gate of the hook has a spring loaded keep to prevent accidental disconnection. The function and purpose are clear making this an attractive hook in store merchandising projects - for example hanging rails in shop windows. The Safe Working Load is 6kg and the wire diam should be between 1.2mm and 1.5mm.

In both cases height is adjusted with ease thanks to the push button at the wire entry point. Depressing the button releases the clutch allowing the height to be lowered. Raising is even easier - simply slide the hook up the wire and it self locks in the new position.

Excess wire emerges from the cable exit hole in the back of the fitting and can be trimmed off with sharp wire cutters following adjustment.

LOOPS

Looping wires and cables is a great way to suspend items which may not have a suitable suspension lug to use with a hook. With the Perla and Urban Trapeze fittings any size loop can be created.

Urban Trapeze is like a posh version of the Gripple, an industrial fastener which can look ugly when in the public eye. The UT fitting is not only prettier but easier to use. It incorporates two self locking clutches to grip 1.2mm-1.5mm wire securely allowing the height and size of the loop to be adjusted infinitely. For good grip use with 7x7 wire rope (all our wires conform with this specification) - it means the wire is composed of 49 threads first twisted into mini bundles of 7 strands and then the bundles are twisted to make a single wire rope 1.5mm diameter - slender but amazingly strong. In the US this is generally known as aircraft wire.

Perla does not have an automatic gripper but it has a locking grub screw which is tightened with an allen key. This is designed to tighten onto either a single wire (to create a stop end similar to a ferrule) or onto a pair of wires (to create a loop). The wires can be from 1mm up to 2mm diameter. A few allen keys (small hexagonal wrenches) are included with every Perla order (depending on how many Perlas are ordered). Extra allen keys can be purchased.
