Wire rope with 90 deg eyelet-end fixing
Description
For rapid on-site installation, especially on concrete ceilings, some contractors prefer to use a hanging wire with an integral ceiling anchoring point. Our wire rope with 90-degree eyelet-end fixing can be secured using impact tools and proprietary direct-to-concrete anchors.
This suspension wire has an integral fixing eye bonded onto the top end of the 1.5 mm diameter cable. The eyelet component is pre-formed at a 90-degree angle so the cable can be attached directly to the ceiling. Use with preferred concrete fixings or masonry anchors. The sturdy fitting has a 7mm hole and is typically used with 6mm diameter impact anchors installed using power tools.
The length of the wire is pre-set at either 1m or 3m, depending on the cable drop required. No screws or plugs are supplied with this wire - the installer should provide the appropriate fixings depending on the ceiling to which it is to be anchored.
The bottom of the cable is a plain end, fused to prevent fraying. The cable with 90 90-degree eyelet end can be combined with one of our adjustable height suspension hooks or other fittings sourced by the installer according to on-site requirements.
Each wire assembly has a safe working load of 15 kg with a 5:1 safety factor. The wire thickness is between Gripple No 1 and No 2 sizes and compatible with Gripple No 2 fittings. We have our own alternative range of fittings, including our Urban Trapeze loop-maker fitting with finger-tip height adjustment. We also supply this component as part of a kit, including a hammer-in concrete ceiling fixing and an adjustable suspension hook. See link image below.
