Description
Budget A4 sign stand with weighted base
Floor standing sign holder with round base made from dense recycled plastic suitable for use indoors or outside. This is our economical yet weighty Basic Base. (If appearance counts see our classier covered version).
Supplied with A4 poster frame (can be used landscape or portrait) colour co-ordinated with height adjustable pole. Refer to the Assembly and Installation tab.
Base colour is charcoal. Frame/pole combination available in black or green - please select required colour.
Print your own signs on standard A4 size paper using your home or office printer. Laminate them if you wish (they will still fit the frame because it is deliberately oversized).
For indoor use you can also order Poster Protectors to cover your paper sign and offer some protection (not waterproof - for that you must laminate).
In especially strong winds the sign may topple over but can be stood up. See water bag accessory to provide additional ballast.
Utility double-sided A3 free-standing sign

This pole is a firm push fit into the base and can be demounted easily for storage or transporting.

In gusty or moderate wind with A3 frame the sign may topple due to the size of frame. It can be stood up again. Adding a donut-shape water-bag base provides additional stability. See Recommended Accessories.
Guardian add-on bracket to attach link chains
Optional accessory Guardian bracket slips onto the upper part of the telescopic pole for attaching a link chain (for example plastic chain). This adds the facility to restrict an area or guide pedestrians e.g. at entrance or checkout.
For a more refined appearance consider our Covered Base which would be more more presentable at high class venues or smart occasions if the budget allows.

Stability outdoors
These floor standing poster holders may be used outside and will normally be stable in moderate winds. Under more severe conditions they may blow over unless a Water-bag add-on is placed on the base. Alternatively, consider the A4 Tilt with 500mm fixed height pole: it is considerably more wind stable as the overturning moment is halved compared with a 1m+ pole.
About our FreeStander components
The basic base is made from recycled plastic. The base is durable and is suitable for long term outside use. The appearance is somewhat rough-cut whereas our alternative version of this sign base fitted with a decorative top cover is more pristine. The weight of base: Approx 3kg The diameter of base: 300mm (12in) The base is moulded with a push-fit socket to take a 25mm (1in) diameter pole.
The telescopic pole is similar to a parasol pole with lever clamp to allow height adjustment from 1m up to 1.8m high. A T-piece with integral M10 threaded stud screws into the top of the pole and then the frame is clipped into place within the T-piece.
A3 or A4 size Slim Frame can be fitted portrait or landscape. The frame can also be removed and another size fitted later. The frame has a poster insertion opening in one edge so a standard A3/A4 print or laminated A3/A4 sign can be inserted (no need to trim back to dead A3/A4 as the frame is oversized to take a laminated (encapsulated) A3 or A4 print.
Backing sheet included Like all our Slim frames we supply a backing sheet made from stiff twin-wall fluted plastic generically known as correx. The correx backing sheet serves to stiffen up paper or laminated signs - especially valuable outdoors. For double-sided use simply insert a sign each side of the backing sheet.
U-pockets to protect prints indoors Available accessories include U-pockets - clear thin gauge plastic sleeves plastic to protect paper posters. Note these do not make the sign waterproof and are normally used without the supplied correx backing sheet. HOW TO FIT THE POLE INTO THE BASE
The illustration below shows the four easy steps required to assemble the poster stand
To insert the pole into the base ensure this step is done on firm ground, such as a concrete floor. If you have ordered a covered base, the cover should be threaded onto the pole and held out of the way until the pole has been properly secured into the base.

Inserting the pole
The pole must be pushed right into the base! Otherwise it will lean or wobble.
The pole is a firm push fit into the heavy base (no bolts are required).
First it needs to be introduced a short way into the base (enough to grip).nbsp;
Then lift the pole to raise the base off the ground and bring it down firmly on the floor.
Repeat until the pole is securely fixed into the base.
Inserting the frame into the T-piece
The slot in the frame must be at the top or side - never at the bottom! If you insert the frame upside down (i.e. with the frame opening at the bottom) it will be loose.
Remove the corrugated backing sheet.
Use firm pressure to 'click' the frame securely into the T-piece. A slight rocking motion may help.
Centralise the frame by sliding to engage the central 'pip'.
Slide to the corner and rotate to change from portrait to landscape.
Rotate the frame all the way round until the slot is at the bottom to remove the frame from the T-piece.
