Magnetic sign hanging kit - hook end or panel clamp

Magnetic cable ceiling attachment with adjustable-height suspension hook or panel hanger is supplied as a kit, complete with a wire cable.

Magnet ceiling sign hanging hardware is easy to attach to steel ceiling panels or grids.
Magnetic anchors also allow suspension from roof girders or other ferrous surfaces.
Magnet is super-strong neodymium 20mm diameter capable of carrying a 3kg load under optimum conditions with a 2:1 margin of safety (see more details for limitations).
Suitable hanging system for some recessed grid ceilings.
The magnetic ceiling fitting has a smart nickel-plated finish. The overall height of the fitting (magnet plus barrel) is 38mm.
The top of the 1.5mm diameter steel cable is locked into the magnetic ceiling fitting.
Safe-hook style picture hook is threaded onto the cable and adjusted to the required height with the inbuilt clutch mechanism. The gripper inside the hook can be released by pressing the top button.
A 2m long wire is included in this Kit F. Once adjusted, any excess cable can be snipped off.
Alternative Kit P comes with a 5mm panel hanger fitting instead of the hook. Again, this incorporates a wire gripper mechanism for easy height adjustment.
For hanging thicker panels, Kit Q comes with a 10mm capacity panel hanger fitting. Again, this incorporates a self-locking wire gripper mechanism for easy height adjustment.

This magnetic sign hanging kit comprises one magnet fixture, a 2m or 1m cable (as stated against the individual product) plus an adjustable hook or panel gripper. Most signs require two suspension kits. The hardware can be used for other shop and display systems - for example, hanging hooks for visual merchandising of window displays or for picture hanging.

These magnetic ceiling fixings can be combined with alternative hooks, larger panel grippers and loop-end cable fittings. Please call, and we will be pleased to put together kits to meet your exact requirements if the above Kit F or Kit P do not meet your needs.

Safe Working Load 3kg

Maximum panel sizes which can per hung using two wires per sign depend on the type of material used to make the sign, POS or display panel. The below maximum panel sizes normally require two drilled holes to be used with the Hook fitting. The Panel Gripper fitting may not be suitable for larger panels, and the installer should determine whether the particular substrate will clamp adequately using the grub screw alone, i.e. without drilling.

* Magnet power is reduced significantly on thin steel sheets and also on painted and/or coated surfaces.
These maximum recommended panel sizes are recommendations for optimum fixing situations and incorporate a factor of safety of at least 2:1. Please reduce sizes for sub-optimum or 'unknown' site situations.
When used on suspended ceiling grids, the magnetic power is reduced by up to 80%, so we draw your attention to alternative twist-on fittings which provide a much stronger mechanical fixing. Otherwise, when attaching to ceiling grid bars, please limit panel size to 20% of the above areas. Whenever possible, carry out your own site testing since individual situations can vary greatly and these are beyond our control.

Magnets do not work on non-ferrous metals such as aluminium or stainless steel.

Size of hole for hook

The Safe Hook requires a 5mm hole to pass through a suspension eye or panel to be suspended.

Size of Panel Gripper

Kit P comes with a Panel Gripper and a 1m long wire. The height is fully adjustable. The maximum panel thickness is 5mm. The fitting has a grub screw to tighten onto the panel.
