Sticking up frames rather than screwing is handy when you don't have a drill available.
Double-sided adhesive tape is supplied in convenient rolls for fixing snap frames and similar items directly to a wall or door without using nails or screws. Use of adhesive foam tape is quick and easy but should be limited to suitable smooth clean surfaces.
Each 10m long roll is 12mm wide (about 1/2 inch wide) and is supplied with a peel off waxed paper liner. The foam core is under 2mm thick with a high-grab adhesive on each side. The function is similar to popular Sticky Fixers. One side of the tape is applied to the back of the frame - either all the way round the perimeter or in strips. The release liner is then removed from the wall-side of the tape and the frame is firmly applied using all-round pressure to achieve a good bond.
How many rolls do I need?
Each 10 metre roll will be sufficient to fix at least 10 A4 snap frames or 7 A3 snap frames when running the tape right around the back or the frame for maximum security.
Instructions for adhesive tape fixing
Fixing is permanent so ensure the frame is applied level and in the correct position. Attempts to remove the frame may damaged to wall decoration or leave sticky residues.
If double-side adhesive tape is used to fix frames (in place of the screws supplied) please check the smoothness and suitability of the wall. Tiles and similar surfaces may be suitable provided they are cleaned thoroughly before application. Tape fixing is not suitable for surfaces with a non-stick coating or porous/foamed surfaces. Special preparation may be required in a greasy environment, for instance where deep fat fryers are in regular use.
The tape is easy to cut to length with scissors.
The initial grab of the tape is good and maximum bond will be developed over a few hours after application at room temperature. Adhesive tape fixing is intended for indoor applications on surfaces which are firm and coherent (not flaky or powdery).
