Colours in printing are often referenced by Pantone number. However for colour matching of painted engineering components (for example, powder coated poster frames) RAL colours are the industry standard. Professionally reproduced RAL colour charts are available, but as a quick guide (for indicative purposes only) please click here to view our RAL Colour Chart. It's a PDF file which you can open and save for future reference.
USA and UK spellings are different is several respects. In our industry aluminium (UK) and aluminum (US) or colour (UK) versus color (US) are frequently occuring examples. For a full treatment of this subject visit Wiki's British and American spelling differences.
UK or GB? In most contexts they mean the same thing - United Kingdom or Great Britain to give the full names. However strictly speaking UK includes Northern Ireland whereas Great Britain does not - it is comprised of England, Wales and Scotland. British people come from Great Britain. But the terms are often freely mixed: 'The British Olympic Team represents the UK' makes perfect sense! But be careful of US mail - sometimes they think UK means Ukraine! For more see UK or GB.
