Series 50 Cork-back noticeboards

Series 50 lockable noticeboards are weather-proof for use outside.

The sturdy aluminium frame is 50mm deep (front-to-back depth).
The hinged door is glazed with shatter resistant rigid plastic. A foam rubber gasket all around the door ensures that the noticeboard is water-proof.
Hidden wall fixings are included. The aluminium rails are first fixed to wall and the noticeboard is then hung onto the top rail and locked onto the bottom rail with a grub screw. The notice board is not penetrated by fixings to ensure it remains fully waterproof. For post fixing ideas click on More Details.
The noticeboard can be fitted landscape or portrait. When used in the landscape mode the two stays help to prop the door open during poster change.

Condensation

These aluminium framed notice boards are suitable for interior or exterior use. A rubber gasket around the door provides the necessary water seal.

Condensation on the inside of the door can occur under certain atmospheric conditions. It is the same as inside a car windscreen where condensation can occur without implying that rain has actually penetrated.

For example on a cold night after a humid day the water vapour in the air can condense on any cold surface (such as the glazed door or car windscreen) and this is unavoidable. In most situations any misting clears of its own accord as the glass (or clear plastic) warms up again.

Two identical notice boards with slightly different exposures can behave differently. The same logic again applies as for a car windscreen: e.g. when facing towards a building the glass will be slightly protected from a cold night sky; or when oriented to benefit from a little morning sunlight condensation would normally dissipate faster as the glass warms up quicker.

Fixing Methods

Top and bottom fixing rails are provided. The noticeboard is 'hung' on the top rail and 'nipped tight' onto the bottom rail (from beneath using two grub screws).

Currently we don't offer posts to suit Series 50 noticeboards. However some customers have provided their own wooden posts with a marine ply or similar back-board fixed to the posts to which the notice board can be fixed using the mounting rails.

Keys

They are lockable but the keys are all the same so one key will open a number of notice boards on site. This is a convenient feature for supervisory staff.
